PARIS - A Paris court on Tuesday convicted Brigitte Bardot of provoking discrimination and racial hatred for writing that Muslims are destroying France.
The court also handed down a $23,325 fine against the former screen siren and animal rights campaigner.
A leading French anti-racism group known as MRAP filed a lawsuit last year over a letter she sent to then-Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy. The remarks were published in her foundation’s quarterly journal.
In the December 2006 letter to Sarkozy, now the president, Bardot said France is “tired of being led by the nose by this population that is destroying us, destroying our country by imposing its acts.”
She was referring to the Muslim feast of Aid el-Kebir, celebrated by slaughtering sheep.
French anti-racism laws prevent inciting hatred and discrimination on racial or religious or racial grounds. Bardot, 73, had been convicted four times previously for inciting racial hatred.
Bardot is an animal rights nutbag, but if that’s the only type of person left in Europe that will oppose the Islamization of the entire continent, I’ll take it. As many have said before, Europe is lost. When you get tired of fighting the fight, when you wonder why hundreds of thousands of our bravest souls must travel half the world away to face the enemy, when you want to give up and just let the whole thing fall down, remember this article. It should remind us that there truly is no place else to go.

Europe is not lost. Bardot is a jerk but by all means get behind Le Pen whom she does this for. The French will thank you for it. She can easily channel her energies and her vote through le FN legimitamely but chooses to stoke it up.
Before 9/11 noone referred to the Arabs in France as muslims at all. Thanks to the climate of political nonsense eminating from your own Bushman after the weak catastrophe that was and remains 9/11, yup things certainly changed. Before then i recall being at uni with arab french kids who loved American culture and wanted to feel part of France like any other kids anywhere in the world. Their identity struggle was no different to your own civil rights issues.
Islam wasn’t something they even thought about in what is a true secular culture. And still, in recent extensive religious polls only a tiny % of the countries’ magrhebin youth identify with Islam. The rest is gang crap still aping your own burbs - off the back of a hard ass group we have managed to turn into the eternal bogeyman for all gangsters to emulate - Al Qaeda.

Europe remains a wonderful place to live. But the nonsense espoused on US blogs about its imminent islamic demise I wonder if they are aware of the very rounded prescence of a certain Jean Marie Le Pen or any of the other strident anti immigrant parties in Europe. Yup France is so steeped in anti racism roll-over laws that it has an entire legit party dedicated to turfing foreigners out and almost made it to the last round in the presidentials of 2003. Your own minutemen would cut off arms and legs to have the same political power.
I think worse than this is the palpable rubbing of hands and lazy silent Steyn-styled hope with eyes focused this way that has arisen since then that sometimes makes me feel sorrier for America. As if it diverts from the same crap going on in your back yards with borders and overbearing cultures - or possibly even the enduring embarrassment, anger and hurt of the 9/11 tragedy and its fiasco of a payback in Iraq, creating more problems than it ever solved..
Between the hyperventilating islamophobes and people who will say and do anything to excuse the worst that is done in Islam’s name the arguments are muddled at best and simply nonsense at worst. But it won’t be Europe that nosedives solo if immiment “islamization” were anything more than a ludicrous pipedream.
